How do I check when an SSL certificate expires?
Type the hostname (for example client-site.com) into the check box. You'll see the days left, the expiry date, and the issuer, usually in about a second.
Can I check a port other than 443?
Yes. Enter hostname:port, for example mq.example.com:5671.
Does it show when the domain expires too?
Yes, when the registry publishes a registration date. Some names don't publish one, and we leave it out rather than guess.
What alerts do I get?
Email alerts for SSL certificates at 30, 14, 7 and 1 days left. Domain dates show on the instant check but don't trigger alerts.
What if the certificate already expired?
The check shows how many days ago it expired and links to a step-by-step fix: /ssl-expired-what-to-do/.
Do I need an account or password?
No. Enter your email and we send a link. Opening it starts your watchlist. Every alert email links back to it.
